Danish chicken • Chickens with the 2- and 3-heart Animal Welfare Label • Slow-growing • Better animal welfare • More space to roam • Raised with care in Denmark • Shorter transport time • CO2 measured from farm to table by the Carbon Trust
We work together to improve animal welfare so that chicks are allowed to be chicks. It requires a little extra effort in our daily work—but that doesn’t matter much as long as we’re working for a good cause. For us, it’s important that every single chicken is raised with care. De Dansk Familiegårde offers three types of chickens: farm-raised, free-range, and organic.
The Animal Welfare Label comes in three levels—the more hearts filled in, the better the animal welfare. At De Dansk Familiegårde, we offer both 2- and 3-heart chickens. For example, our Farm-Raised Chicken from De Dansk Familiegårde has 2 animal welfare hearts. We recommend looking for the government-certified Animal Welfare Label when you buy chicken.

At De Dansk Familiegårde, we’re on a journey to better understand our carbon footprint. That’s why we’ve enlisted independent climate calculation experts from the Carbon Trust to measure the CO2 footprint of our chicken products—from the moment the chick hatches until it lands on your plate.
