Since 2014, Danpo has supported the children at the Julemærke Homes in Denmark. The Julemærke Homes do fantastic work for children who are struggling. Health is about more than just what we eat: It’s also about living a balanced life with a healthy diet, exercise, and a well-rounded lifestyle.
For over 10 years, we have been on a shared journey with the Julemærkehjem to support the children’s well-being and their new, healthy lifestyle. We’re proud of our partnership, and we’re absolutely thrilled to see the positive impact a stay at a Julemærkehjem has on the children.
If you’re curious about what our support has specifically entailed, we’ll give you a glimpse into just that in this video.
We support the Julemærke Homes by donating chicken, so the children can enjoy healthy, low-fat, and nutritious protein. In addition, we have donated padel courts to the Julemærke Homes. We chose padel tennis because it’s a sport that’s a great fit for the children at the Julemærkehjem. It’s easy to learn and less demanding than other racket sports.
“We all have a responsibility. Danpo shares responsibility for the society we live in. And we see a clear shared set of values with the Julemærkehjem, which uphold the values that are closest to our hearts: the joy of food, togetherness around the table, and a good, healthy life,” says Klement Hinkbøl Ribergaard, CEO of Danpo.
When we as a company support the work of the Julemærkehjem, we are also helping to advance the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. The Julemærkehjem have selected three Sustainable Development Goals on which they focus particularly in their work to help children.
SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being
SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals

The Julemærke Homes provide early preventive support for children ages 7–14. The Julemærke Homes are an educational program centered on community.
The children who stay at the homes often have low self-esteem, may have been bullied, miss having friends, and may have experienced illness, divorce, or grief within their families. The children may also face academic challenges, such as beginning to miss school or dyslexia.
The children have often experienced loneliness, felt isolated, and have a desire to be part of a community. Some children simply want a more active daily routine or to change their eating and sleeping habits.
A stay at a Julemærkehjem lasts 10 weeks and, for many children, marks the beginning of a brighter daily life with improved physical, mental, and social well-being.
We work closely and committedly with the child’s family to create the best opportunities for the child’s development and well-being. The stay at a Julemærkehjem is free for the family.
Children thrive at the Julemærkehjem. Here’s how they’re doing one year after their stay:
4 out of 5 do not experience bullying
7 out of 10 have strong self-confidence
9 out of 10 do not feel lonely
